Astrid will be guiding you through Marrakech’s buzzing independent fashion scene where designers are creating the ultimate in slow fashion – limited edition, hand made and local sourcing. We’ll also be opening up our little black book of the city’s best addresses so think designers, artisans and modern makers.

With Astrid as your guide, you’ll also meet the women working at one of our favourite artisanal embroidery collectives and enjoy a styling session with some of our favourite makers at a one-off fashion ‘souk’ we’ll be creating at El Fenn.
Plus, there are trips to inspiring cultural spots – including the museum dedicated to legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent – and dinner with a fashion icon in the splendour of a historic palace.
We’ve curated this experience to combine fashion and cultural inspiration with great food and sunshine. Plus, you’ll have precious time to rethink and refresh your style and the chance to make new friendships with a group of like-minded women.
The five-day event runs Wednesday 17th – Sunday 21st September. Prices start at €4,200 / £3500 for a small room and include all meals, pre-dinner cocktails and wine with dinner, trips out & transport plus airport transfers. Here are all the details.
YOUR RETREAT ITINERARY
Day 1
Check in to one of El Fenn’s gorgeous rooms at your leisure before gathering to meet Astrid. Immerse yourself in the interiors of El Fenn with an afternoon tour of the hotel, a sit down to get acquainted with all things Moroccan style before getting ready for your first evening of fun. We’ll start with sunset cocktails on the rooftop. Dinner that night will be a Moroccan sharing feast and you’ll start getting to know each other over some great food and wine.
Day 2
After breakfast, you’ll head off to the Yves Saint Laurent museum to soak up some fashion history before having lunch at El Fenn and heading out into the medina to shop the buzzing ‘Fashion Quarter’. We’ll take you to our favourite independent boutiques and you’ll also see the artisans at work in the souk. Dinner will be hosted by a fashion icon who’s inspired designers for decades at a sumptuous palace where gorgeous Moroccan design details create a dramatic backdrop.
Day 3
Enjoy breakfast on the terrace before travelling to the countryside to meet the women working at one of our favourite embroidery collectives. You’ll learn about the traditions of their incredible artisanal skills and see them at work before having lunch. Then you’ll head to one of our favourite art spaces where a roster of resident artists from all over the world create stunning sculptures and paintings. Dinner that night is in the private room of one of our favourite restaurants complete with fabulous food and some great party vibes.
Day 4
Soak up the blue skies over breakfast before heading out to an exciting area of the city where many of Marrakech’s most exciting new design talents are working from large ateliers. We’ll take you to visit some of our favourite fashion and accessory brands before a private lunch hosted in a stunning contemporary art gallery. Then it’s back to El Fenn for our one-off fashion ‘souk’ where you’ll get the chance to be styled by some of our favourite fashion and accessory makers. A final – and extra special – gala dinner that night will be styled by the creative director of El Fenn.
Day 5
Swap notes and numbers over breakfast before a final wrap-up with Astrid as you reflect
on an amazing few days. Then it’s either time to head to the airport – or stay on at El Fenn to soak up some more sunshine.

All our rooms feature our signature blend of traditional Moroccan artisanal decoration meets a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture and art from the El Fenn private collection. Colour-soaked and playful, each one is unique. You’ll also have access to our three swimming pools and gorgeous spa if you want to book some extra treatments.

The programme on day one of the retreat starts with a tour of the hotel at 3:00pm so either take an early flight and spend the day by the pool or arrive in time for afternoon tea.

Absolutely! If you want to arrive the day before the retreat starts – or stay on for a night or two afterwards to explore Marrakech a bit more then we’ll be offering retreat attendees a 15% discount on our best rates.
Gorgeous. It’s still warm in Marrakech during September with average temperatures going up to 32C so think blue skies and sunshine. Bring light layers, some sunscreen and a light jacket just in case you need one for a colder evening.
Bring comfortable, light clothes to wear during the day because you’ll be doing some walking, swimwear in case you want to sit by the pool and a hat or sunglasses. For evening, it’s all about a bit of glitz and glamour. We’ll provide more clothing guidance in the retreat notes that are sent after you have booked.
Not much. The interior design retreat is pretty action packed because there’s so much we want to show you. Each day though, we’ve factored in 1.5-2 hours of downtime so that you can rest, have a hammam or just relax.
You can cancel anytime up to 8 weeks before the start date of the retreat to receive a refund of your deposit minus 5% administration fee.
