A rooftop music residency at El Fenn
This autumn, the El Fenn rooftop has a new resident DJ. From 11th October, Shems takes over the decks every other Sunday, playing from late afternoon into the evening. With rooftop views over the medina and Atlas Mountains beyond, arrive for sunset and stay as stars fill the sky and night falls.

MEET SHEMS
Shems grew up between London and Marrakech in a house full of turntables and crates of records. His father played under the name DEM2 during the peak of the UK’s acid house years, and Shems was mixing by fifteen.
He has since played intimate parties in the UK, as well as bars and beach clubs in Playa del Carmen. After returning to Marrakech from an adventure in Mexico, he founded Elektrokesh, which brings local and international DJs together in the city.
Every Sol Sunday is different. Shems plays across a wide range of genres and shapes each tailored to the evening and people on the rooftop. Come for a cocktail at sunset and stay for the music, the company and a rooftop that only gets better as the night goes on.

Dancing Season
In preparation for his residency, Shems has put together the only playlist you'll need to keep you dancing this autumn. In true Shems fashion, you'll find dancefloor favourites that even the shyest dancers won't be able to resist, alongside the slower, downtempo tracks you can expect to hear at the beginning of his sets.
Pools and Parasols
While much of the world settles into cosy season, Marrakech stays warm and sunny. If you're joining us this autumn for some much-needed sunshine, or just want to be here in spirit, this playlist will take you straight to our rooftop pool. Think of it as the El Fenn signature sound. It doesn't stick to one genre, but there's plenty of groove and funk.

Updated regularly, this is where the curious can find new releases and tracks you may not have heard anywhere else. Our Hot Right Now series, now on its 6th edition, pulls in sounds from every corner of the globe. The only rule is that each track carries that unmistakable El Fenn feeling. Bathtub Beats
We take bathtime seriously at El Fenn, and this is the perfect playlist to accompany it. Enjoy blue skies and sunshine during autumn days here in Marrakech, then soak at night in one of our iconic bathtubs by the fireplace in your room. It's an invitation to take some time for yourself, with gentle percussion and soft beats to aid pure relaxation.
