Marrakech 2026: Our pick of the best restaurants & bars

New places are constantly opening in Marrakech so it’s hard to know which one to choose. We’ve got you covered. Here’s our pick for 2026 – some old, some new, all great to visit.

You’re in Morocco so you need to eat some local food right? We love two places, both staffed by all-female teams.  Al Fassia is great for a traditional dinner, while Sahbi Sahbi serves Moroccan fusion and was created by the team behind many of Marrakech’s most iconic addresses – from the YSL Museum to Grand Cafe de le Poste. Sahbi Sahbi’s interiors are a masterclass in traditional Moroccan design interpreted in a very modern way.

Chef Richard McCormick, the man behind Finland’s celebrated YesYesYes, has just opened Flowers where he brings his talent for open-fire cooking and plant-forward dishes to Marrakech. The rooftop medina restaurant is built from reclaimed materials with a botanical garden vibe – and the food is generous, colourful, and delicious.

Farmers serves ‘farm to fork’ dishes made from produce sourced from Sanctuary Slimane, a permaculture farm just outside the city. Think local sourcing, pesticide-free ingredients and dishes such as sea bream with harissa salsa and chermoula salsa verde. Or head to Plus 61 where the food is Morocco meets Sydney, the cocktails killer and the beautifully serene dining room is filled with stylish locals.

If you’re in the mood for a splurge, Michelin-starred chef Jean-François Piège is in charge of the menu at Sabo which combines Moroccan produce with French fine dining. The restaurant is in the Selman Hotel which was designed by Jacques Garcia so expect moody interiors, killer lighting and some design drama.

If you want to stay in the medina for dinner, we recommend the Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and a riad that fuses traditional architecture with a modern aesthetic, at Naama. Or head to the immaculately styled Villa Aaron by the team behind the ever popular Kabana. Housed in a traditional riad, its interiors combine Morocco with a side of Marie Antoinette in the best possible way.

If you want to head out for some cocktails, start your evening with an aperitif in the cool, contemporary bar at Mizaan or head down to Barometre where the drinks are mini works of art. The bar or garden at the Petanque Social Club are both the perfect backdrop to an early evening drink, or if you want to go classic, head to La Mamounia where everyone from Winston Churchill to Alfred Hitchcock have enjoyed a cocktail.

Or if late night dancing is your thing, Epicurien is hard to beat for drinks and dancing. It has a different live band playing every night, plus an outdoor terrace and garden. The Lotus Club is always great for a show and after party, and Comptoir Darna is a Marrakech institution – after dinner with a sideshow of candle dancing, the music cranks up in the bar and the party starts.

And of course, no list would be complete without mentioning El Fenn. Whether you’re a guest or just stopping by for dinner, the rooftop restaurant is a must-visit. Start with cocktails on the terrace to watch the sunset over the medina, then settle in for Mediterranean-inspired dishes that showcase the best of Moroccan ingredients. In winter, dinner by the fireplace is utterly magical.
