Help to plan your Marrakech Itinerary
Creating shared memories is one of the joys of travel and right now we’re seeing more and more people choosing to holiday with different family generations or as a group with friends. But how to plan an itinerary when you’ve got a group of people with different interests? Here’s our rundown of the many ways in which you can combine time together at El Fenn with activities to suit every taste.
For culture vultures

Marrakech is packed with culture – from thousands of years of history to exciting contemporary art. The city’s museums cover everything from food and music, to art and jewellery, and its galleries channel the vibrant African art scene. A guided walking tour is also a great way to see the world-famous Jemma el Fna square, inscribed on Unesco’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as well the ancient medina and souk where you’ll follow in the footsteps of travellers across the centuries.
For sun and wellness worshippers

The sun shines all year round here and autumn is a great season to visit with temperatures in the mid-20s and blazing blue skies. If pool time and sunbathing is your thing, you can either relax beside the El Fenn rooftop pool with its stunning views of the Koutoubia Mosque, or head to one of the many places that do a pool day with lunch. Or use your time to deep dive into Moroccan wellness with a traditional hammam in the El Fenn spa. Follow it up with a massage and you’ve got the ultimate in relaxation.
For style hunters

Our new-look boutique has just opened and you’ll find exclusive lines of everything from fashion to homeware and accessories there. We’re also located on the edge of the medina which means the souks are within easy walking distance. There you’ll find shops selling both traditional artisanal products as well as work by new designers. Or Gueliz, which is packed with great boutiques, is just a short taxi ride away and Sidi Ghanem is the city’s most exciting design district where creatives work from huge ateliers.
For nature lovers

There are several beautiful gardens in Marrakech – including the Majorelle and the Secret Garden – but if you really want to get immersed in nature then we’d advise heading out to the Atlas Mountains to spend a day hiking in its beautiful landscapes. It’s also a chance to experience the traditions of rural life and visit some of the villages there. Or you can visit the arresting vistas of the stone desert at Agafay where luxury tented camps offer activities such as camel riding and quad biking. Either have lunch at one of them in between the action, or stay to see nightfall and stars fill the sky while having dinner by candlelight.
For adventurers

In recent years, some really innovative ways of seeing the medina have popped up and you can now do everything from a cycle tour, which reaches parts most visitors never see, to a motorbike sidecar tour. In the countryside around Marrakech, you can also paraglide or do a stunning sunrise balloon tour. And if you love the water, Essaouira is just over two hours away and on the stunning Atlantic coast. Kite surfing is particularly popular and there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the pretty coastal town.
There truly is something for everyone here in Marrakech and our two-bedroom and three-bedroom family suites are the perfect base for your stay. Packed with all the El Fenn style essentials – from traditional artisanal crafts to artwork and colour – they’ll feel like the perfect home from home where you, and your friends and family, can enjoy the trip of a lifetime.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
